Boat Cruises & charter in Fort William, Lochaber & Loch Ness

The Fort William and Lochaber area, as well as the Loch Ness and Caledonian Canal region, has a number of operators who run boat cruise trips, cruising holidays, boat and yacht charter. The west coast of Scotland provides the best offshore cruising in the UK, and the Great Glen is a huge inland waterway connecting Fort William with Inverness and the North Sea.

At Fort William, Souter's Lass cruises down Loch Linnhe, Loch Eil and offers short cruises on the Caledonian Canal. Out at Glenfinnan, Loch Shiel Cruises provides scenic boat trips down Loch Shiel to Acharacle and from Mallaig, West Coast Cruises offers sea cruises on the Sound of Sleat and Loch Nevis to Inverie, and operate one of the local ferries. Arisaig Marine also operate a boat trip out to Eigg, Rhum and Muck.

In Glencoe iPower and SeaXplore operate large covered fast RIB craft for wildlife trips on Loch Leven and Loch Linnhe.

From Fort Augustus, Cruise Loch Ness operate a leisurely cruise on Loch Ness and also a fast, exhilarating powerboat trip to Urquhart Castle.

In 2021 Fort William will have a 40 berth marina for visiting and local boats at the entrance to the Caledonian Canal operated by Caol regeneration Company - a local charity based in the village of Caol.

If you are planning a visit to Fort William by sea be sure to book a berth at Thomas Telford Corpach Marina at the entrance to the Caledonian Canal. Our marina has 45 sheltered berths with fresh water and electricity. Ashore we have first class toilets and shower facilities and a small coffee shop. Close by are shops and pubs with regular transport into Fort William. Our marina is community owned and managed and is not directly involved with the Caledonian Canal. An Cafaidh Mara An Cafaidh Mara is our new coffee shop at the entrance to the Canal within our marina facilities building, open to customers seven days a week. Check out their social media. Book a berth or slipway use If you are bringing a boat to Fort William we have a sheltered all weather slipway within the marina for launching and car parking of cars and trailers. Book online to launch your boat in Loch Linnhe. You can get to the marina by road along A82/A830 or by mailing train - Corpach Station is 100 metres from the marina. If you are looking for a Ben Nevis Mountain Guide, Adventure Nevis is a Scottish-based guiding service offering classic mountain days on Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain, standing at 1,344 metres. The Ben Nevis mountain footpath ascent - 6 to 8 hours - is ideal for public, private and charity groups.
