Over the past few years a growing number of cruise liner operators have been bringing their passengers to visit our Highland town of Fort William. Fort William is the largest town in the Highlands and is located by the shore of Loch Linnhe, a tidal sea loch with easy access from the Atlantic Ocean.

Cruise ship Adonia operated by P&O Cruises first visited Fort William on Thursday 13 August, 2015, which was a fabulous sunny day in the Highlands and perfect for discovering the vast range of shops and outdoor activities and historical locations in and around the town. This was the first cruise ship to visit Fort William.

During the course of the day passengers disembarked from the ship's tenders and enjoyed the short journey to Fort William Town Pier, operated by The Highland Council. Visitors were entertained by local pipers and spent some of the time ashore shopping whilst others set out on the Steam Locomotive for a trip to Mallaig.
Built in 2001, Adonia is the smallest in P&O Cruises fleet and has a gross tonnage of 30,277; is 181m long and 26m wide. She has a draught of 5.8m and her maximum crusing speed is 18 knots. If you would like to see how amazing Adonia looks like inside just click the link.
